Video of the United Irish Men History

THE UNITED IRISHMEN HISTORY VIDEO

BY THE TAR ISTEACH YOUTH GROUP

The aim of this project was first and foremost to learn about the history of the United Irish Men and their links to North Belfast. We picked four significant members of the United Irish Men and found out more about the fascinating role they played. We filmed the project in key locations across Belfast such as the Cavehill, Clifton Street Cemetery and Corn Market in the City Centre.  The young people really enjoyed making the DVD/Video and another of their aims is to emulate the teachings of the United Irish Men re uniting Catholic Protestant and Dissenter.
