North City Business Centre is the Local Enterprise Agency for North Belfast. We provide support for the small business sector and those interested in starting up a business. Over 15 years ago Sandy Brown, Irvine McKay and Robin McConkey took up the challenge to establish one local enterprise agency on the interface area of North Belfast with so much political tension. North City Business Centre was established in 1993 with the first tenant taking up his unit in 1994 leading the way in the regeneration of lower Duncairn Gardens.

North City Business Centre provides many programmes for people interested in Business Enterprise and starting up their own business. The Exploring Enterprise Programme enables people to learn business skills for the first time and gain a Level 2 qualification with the chance to gain sustainable employment in the future.

The GO for it programme gives tailored advice and support for helping people starting their own business. Training is available in areas such as Business Planning, Marketing and Finances. This programme is also available through Steps to Work giving unemployed people a stepping stone into self-employment.  A wide range of business ideas include handmade bespoke jewellery, plumbing, swimming lessons and baking wedding cakes.
