Hi, looking for information on Pinkerton street - have an idea it was somewhere about the New Lodge Road but cant find maps census records etc with information

Hi Maryann,

I'll have maps of the old newlodge area from the era when the Victoria Army Barracks was built later this week, I'll scan them into the computer and upload to the forum.

Going on information from a birth certificate, 1897 - Thomas McKay living in Pinkerton Street - he was in the Royal Irish Fusiliers, so wondering if he was stationed in Pinkerton Street or to get to the bottom of why he was there and his family are in Galway

I havn't forgotten.

Would maps be ok? I managed to get some maps from that area, they'll shows the street, but other than that, thats all I can get at this time.

Pinkerton Street would have been taken down at around 1965 when the Barrack was converted to housing.

I've edited the post to have the dates above each maps.

If you want the full maps, just say to email them to you.
They are about 9 maps and a total of 12mbs.

I'll use the email on your account to email them to, 3 emails with 3 images in each.

yes it is still there i was brought up in 30 pinkerton walk just took my girls ther march past brought a tear too my eye we were the first family too live in the house there was my mammy daddy 3 bhoys and me it was a great street then dont know much aboutit now tho
